Google has introduced two more new products for local search and local business directory listings. So what are Google Tags? Google tags literally look like bright yellow small tags that are placed under a search result at the very bottom of the listing. The tags are yellow markers that allow business owners to promote important aspects of their businesses. If you scroll over the tags on Google you can click on the sponsored link to view offers, photos and other features of the listing. It is important to note that tags do not actually affect your search results though and only work to help businesses add more information for a user to see. You can highlight or draw attention to many different things for your business like: photos, videos, offers, coupons, posts, a menu or reservations page.
What about Google Boost, what’s that? Google Boost is a feature that when added to your businesses listing will allow you to show up on Google Maps, as well as show up for those using mobile devices such as a smart phone. Boost can help attract more visitors to your Google Place’s page or to your businesses website. Google determines which keywords trigger the business’s ad based on the categories that you select. They only pay for the clicks that the ad actually receives. Plus, you can set a monthly budget and there is no minimum fee. The best thing about Google Boost may be that there is absolutely no ongoing management needed! After signing up Boost will run the ads for you automatically. It’s also important to note that Google Boost does not affect the ranking of organic search rankings. As of right now Google Boost is only available in a few select cities.
