If you are a regular user of Facebook, you probably noticed Mark Zuckerberg’s announcement yesterday that Facebook had reached 1 billion active users. Besides being exciting news for the social media monster site, this news also makes one wonder, what are all these people actually doing on Facebook? As a follow up to the 1 billion users news, Facebook has released some facts about what is going on in the Facebook world. Some of these other milestones on Facebook include 219 billion photos uploaded, 17 billion location tags, and 62.6 million songs played to date. In addition, Facebook checked in to see where these 1 billion users were coming from. The top 5 countries that generated new users were Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, and the U.S.
