The Relationship Between a Client and Their SEO Firm

We all know that technology is not slowing down in this fast paced World and as time goes by businesses have realized the importance of utilizing digital marketing. To have a successful website for a business it is essential to be engaged in some level of SEO. Prior to starting an SEO campaign, a business has a few  options, to hire an in house SEO specialist that focuses on the website in its entirety, hire a consultant and attend SEO training, or hire an SEO firm. Larger corporations typically take the first route, since they would have the budget to do so. Smaller and newer businesses are typically going to hire a consultant or do things on their own to save the cost. But, the majority of the businesses that are neither small nor large will choose the latter in hiring an SEO firm. If a business chooses to go the route of hiring an SEO firm, it is important for that business to know the ongoing relationship they will have with their SEO firm. It is very important for the SEO firm to build a strong relationship with their client in order to have them succeed. A client’s SEO cannot reach full maximum overnight. It does take time, and in the beginning this is the most important time for the client because one step must be completed before moving on to the next. This process will start with keyword research, which is done by the SEO firm. SEO firms will do a great deal of research in the client’s specific industry in order to optimize on the best keywords. This will typically bring on relevant keyword themes and geographies for the client but, it is still important that the SEO firm communicates with the client about the themes and geographies, since the client knows their own products, services, and demographics the best. Once the approval on keywords comes through, the SEO firm will make recommendations to the client’s site content. This helps the SEO firm in figuring out which keywords can be added naturally. Of course, before anything is changed, the SEO firm would communicate with the client to make sure the content is still explicit towards their content. SEO firms use link building as a continuous element in order to create content for both definitive topics and relevant information. Once changes are made, the SEO campaign will begin seeing improved results. During the results and reporting time, the client and SEO firm will continue to have a strong relationship through communicating any other changes that need to be made as well as measuring their success. So, it is important for the client to remember that once they sign the contract their work is not completely finished! They will continue to provide information for the SEO clients to optimize. In the end, it will create success for both the client and the SEO firm.
